Our topic this term will be based around our class novel:
Mathematics and Numeracy Number: place value of numbers to 1000 Number: addition and subtraction Money Multiplication Directions Year 2 and 3 Autumn Term A safe journey home. Languages, Literacy and Communication Story sequencing Story mapping Story re-write Character descriptions Developing sentence structure (nouns, adjectives) Alternative story versions Letter writing Creative Arts Art – Character sketches, basket weaving Music – traditional music to accompany stories and tales Drama- re enactment of the story of ‘Little Red riding Hood’ Creative dance WELSH Developing conversations, greetings, feelings, weather. Foods, woodland animals. Our topic this term will be based around our class novel: Little Red Riding Hood Humanities Map making through the forest/local area Compass points Map reading/google maps Health and Wellbeing (PE and PSE) PE: Ball skills- building toward invasion games. PSE: stranger danger, staying safe Science and Technology Light and dark Habitats Animation (small world) Research wolves. Design and making baskets to hold foods LNF and DCF planned for throughout. Planning encompasses the four core purposes for learning and is subject to change based on the needs of the children.
