1 Humans and Food Chains

2 Long long time ago Hunters kill preys and plant crops for food. They always left some to grow so that there are food in future.

3 How farming affects food chain?

4 When land is cleared, most plants and animals can not survive anymore. Trees and plants are killed. Animals along the food chain have nothing to eat They die or move to others place to find food

5 Questions 1. What are the 3 crops that are grown in the area you live? 2. What are the 3 animals that are kept for food where you live? 3. Describe one way that farming has: negative effect on a food chain positive effect on a food chain

6 Others human activities that affect food chains… Puffins eat sand eels but human take away too many sand eels. Puffin may NOT have enough food

9 Summary  Human clear land to grow crops. This destroys habitats and harms food chains.  Some wild animals can live in the crops that farmers grow.  Fishing and the introduction of new species can harm food chains.
