7. Effective feedback in the form of descriptive and prescriptive comments should lead students to judge the quality of their work and to monitor themselves.
Descriptive: “Good explanation. You are providing data as evidence to support your claim.”
Prescriptive: “Do you have a claim? Where is your evidence?”
These comments help the student to improve in their writing
