6 Mean Initial value for the mean is derived from demographic data
Demographic data is obtained from 24hr BP measurements Demographic data can be used for mean value, when 1-point calibration measurement is not available If 1-point calibration measurement (measuring BP once before start of recording) is available, this value can replace the mean value It may be safe to assume that 1-point calibration measurement value is very close to the actual mean BP value of the subject If using 1-point calibration measurement yields values that are too extreme (in cases where the measurement was done when the subject was in hemodynamic stress or when the measurement had errors), demographic data and this value can be averaged to yield a new mean BP value
