3. Prepare the shape for the process Select your fabric for appliqué

4. Use a light box to trace the outline shape onto your printed fabric.
Use a tailor’s chalk pencil for this process.

5. Cut a piece of interfacing (iron-on) to the same size as the appliqué fabric.
Use a hot iron – consider safety when using the iron!

6. Pin the appliqué fabric onto the base cloth.
Match the grain lines of the fabric.
Put the pins in at right angles.
Using a straight stitch, carefully stitch around the outline of the shape.

7. Take care not to cut the base fabric!!
Using a sharp embroidery scissors, carefully cut around the stitched motif.
