NRR Ad Hoc Committee In November 2008, the Working Group has approved the creation of a WG Ad Hoc Committee with the objective of promoting discussion on robustness and reliability In Session #62, the WG authorized NRR Ad Hoc Committee work toward a PAR. Gauge the potential interest of the WG to launch a new standardization activity for a highly-reliable and highly-robust system Committee reflector and document upload area 3

Activities of the week Participation
Attendees : 10 Represented companies: LinQuest, France Telecom, InterDigital, Alvarion, BAE Systems, Alcatel-Lucent, and I2R Draft PAR completed for presentation to WG IEEE /0068r2 Prepared a Motion to WG 4

Decisions The NRR ad hoc group has drafted PAR and 5C as the basis for future discussion. The draft PAR reflects new elements from the discussion of WG Project Planning Ad Hoc meeting of 17 Nov 2009. The ad hoc suggests creation of a study group to further explore the synergies between technologies aimed at Smart Grid and NRR applications. The study group goal would be to present an updated PAR and 5C to the WG by the end of Session #65. 5

Proposed WG Motion Motion: To create a study group to study the synergies among metropolitan area network technologies aimed at Smart Grid, Public Safety, Avionics, Airport Surface Communication and Surveillance applications, chartered with a goal to draft and submit a PAR to the WG by the end of Session #65.
