Nonexempt Positions* The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)* requires that employees in nonexempt positions complete a Time Record for each pay period, be paid at least the minimum wage, and paid for time worked in excess of forty hours per week. Time worked in excess of forty hours during our seven day work week (Saturday through Friday) is overtime and will be paid at time and one-half of the normal pay rate. Compensatory time can only be taken during the current work week and cannot be banked.
3
Nonexempt Positions* Austin College pays most nonexempt positions on a salaried basis. The hourly rate is annualized and is paid semi-monthly. This creates a level paycheck throughout the year. However, adjustments to your semi-monthly check will be made for overtime or time off without pay. Some nonexempt positions are paid strictly on an hourly basis.

Non-exempt Timesheet Due in the Payroll Office on the 5th and 20th.
Payroll for the 15th is for the period 1st-15th. Payroll for the end of the month is the 16th –end of the month. Adjustments on timesheets received after those dates may not be reflected until the next pay day.

Exempt Employee Time Off Report
Exempt employees (non-faculty) turn in time not worked during the month e.g. vacation or sick leave. If no sick leave or vacation has been taken, a record indicating no time off is still required. Report is due 7 working days prior to the end of the month. Report covers the total month; unforeseen usage during the last 7 days of the month will be adjusted on the next pay period.
6
Pay Dates* Exempt employees will be paid on the last business day of each month. Nonexempt employees are paid twice a month, the 15th and last day of the month. Should the 15th or the last day of the month fall on the weekend or holiday then employees will be paid the preceding business day. End of the month pay day in December is the last day on campus.
