Project Goals To create and implement a network interconnecting Marquette monitors in Pediatric Operating Rooms (POR) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Devise a program to collect data and integrate into Access database from this network and integrate it into an Access database.

Background Purpose of monitors
To provide a method for monitoring pediatric vital signs in and out of the POR ECG, BP, Pulse, PCO2, PO2, Resp. Rate Need for project Hospital personnel can remotely monitor patients in POR and PICU Currently, rest of hospital uses HP monitors that are linked. PICU MD’s prefer Marquette’s

Contacted VUMC technician Contacted GE Medical (bought Marquette) Trying to determine optimal network setup

Current Status Resolved legality issues for patient confidentiality and work in POR/PICU IRB # (under advisor) Drs. Higgins (Anesth) and Deshpande (Med. Mngmt.) aware and approve Contacted GE Medical and VUMC tech again. Waiting for replies from both.

Future Work Install any needed hardware or software on Unity Network (UN) to allow communication with VUMC ethernet Create program to take data from UN and send it via ethernet to an Access database Troubleshoot system
