North Lake Shore Drive Project includes Grand Avenue to Hollywood Avenue which encompasses 11 neighborhoods in 6 wards, 7 miles of roadway, 22 bridges, and 12 junctions The corridor sees 70,000 to 155,000 vehicles per day, 69,000 transit riders per day on 9 bus routes, and peak trail usage is 25,300 users per day at the highest use areas. Existing challenges include bridges that are in poor structural condition and are functionally obsolete and wave action, flooding, and ice build-up due to poor shoreline protection measures.
