Select profile preferences. Upload a current résumé. Update your profile. Upload a professional headshot. Add relevant professional experiences and awards. Favorite jobs and/or employers. ACADEMIC & CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER Preparing for the Career & Internship Fair: Create an Introduction Pitch “Nice to meet you, Jessica.” “Hello, I am Jessica Hill. I am an accounting student and will graduate this spring. I’m looking for opportunities in the Omaha area with insurance and finance companies.” Introduction Speech: Give your name Make eye contact Tell them who you are and what you are looking for (usually major/area of study and position) Practice introduction speech before event Know what to say- do not go to a company and ask what they do

ACADEMIC & CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER Preparing for the Career & Internship Fair: Research Attending Employers Which companies are you interested in? Do they have any postings on Handshake? Write down specific questions you have. Check out their website learn more. All registered companies are listed in Handshake Make a list of specific companies you want to speak with Check out any job postings they might have on Handshake Briefly look over their website, usually linked on their Handshake page, (mission, vision, etc)- familiarize yourself with the company and what they do If you have any specific questions, be sure to write them down and bring them with you to the fair We recommend you bring a Padfolio or notebook with all this information (you can purchase UNO padfolio in the bookstore) Try not to use your phone while speaking with employers (don’t store your notes in your phone)

September 25th, 2PM – 4PM in CPACS 132 Resume Reviews Come to ACDC for a walk-in resume review or schedule an appointment with one of our advisors! Pop-up resume reviews will be held in individual colleges as well, dates and times to be announced. Walk-ins Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 1 PM – 3PM in Eppley 115 Appointments can be schedule at unomaha.joinhandshake.com
