Labour Market Information
LMI is information about what is happening locally with jobs, skills and business it tends to focus on: Which sectors are growing and declining What types and levels of jobs are increasing and decreasing What supply of labour is available – number, skills and qualification level Salaries, employment type and business size Why Is It Important To You? It can help you think about your career decisions. Accurate up to date information could help you make informed decisions about: 14 to 19 choices Work experience placements Education and training routes Future career choices Explain why understanding or at least having an awareness of Labour Market Information is important. Talk about the careers landscape 10 years ago compared to today and how sectors such as IT and Creative were much smaller, with so many jobs existing today that did not exist a decade ago e.g social media marketeer, robotics engineer, drone photographer etc.

The Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust employs approximately 5,000 people which makes it one of the largest employers in the county. Food and Farming employ almost 4 times the number of people than the national average. Public services includes teachers, of which there are almost 17,000 in the county. The Space & Aerospace sector is relatively small, however it has grown at a faster rate than most others and is due to continue growing until at least Who knows about Spaceport Cornwall?
