4 About Me… I earned my BA in English from UC Irvine and my Master’s of Education in English from Belmont University. This summer I celebrated 28 years of marriage I have 4 children: Darby, Nathaniel, Savannah, and Zoe The three older kids are all in college Savannah attended PVIS for 8th grade Nathaniel and Savannah graduated from PVHS I’m a visual learner so I like to use images and pictures whenever possible My goal is to present the classroom material in a variety of ways I live in Palos Verdes & I love being part of our community

This is my 2nd year in the district, 1st year full time at PVIS I have a dog named Lulu My goal is to give all students access to rigorous and rewarding academic experiences I'm originally from Chicago

12 Absences When you child is absent, he or she should look at the folders on the supply table. There is one for 7th grade and one for 8th grade. Students should look at the lesson plan power point for the day(s) missed ALL of the handouts are also in the folders If you child is absent and he or she is able to do work at home, please check the my school webpage. I try to post everything there PLEASE feel free to me any time if you have any questions. The more you are involved in checking your child’s grade, the easier it is to keep him/her on-track.

I will post assignments and homework on-line. You will need to choose the correct folders in the black box At this time, please log on to the Chrome book as a guest and go to the PVIS website. Click on STAFF then STAFF DIRECTORY Scroll down to TRACEY BLY and click on it. Subscribe to stay informed and access online homework

Writing Classwork & Homework (Notebook Checks points) Quizzes (Right now worth points) Tests/ Projects

15 Notebook Checks Notebook Checks are passed out on FRIDAYS.
It will list the classwork and homework for that week. Students have ALL weekend to find (and complete, if necessary) the work 8th grade: Stamps may be used to keep track of homework that is completed on-time) On MONDAYS we use the notebook check to grade all the work. Notebook checks are worth a lot of points because it covers a variety of topics (grammar, writing, reading, etc) Notebook checks are completion grades If students are absent on Monday, they should bring the packet when they return so I can grade it.
