2 Senior English Last program of study before graduation.
This class is for the highly capable, committed and motivated student who enjoys thought-provoking reading and discussion. Or wants to graduate.. Students in my class should have: a desire to develop a greater depth of learning intellectual curiosity self-direction/motivation time management skills a desire to graduate and to grow

3 Give students the skills and education necessary to be successful after graduating high school
Whether they be headed to a university, community college, straight into the workplace, etc. Encourage students to become critical thinkers, readers, and writers. Facilitate collaboration between peers. Engage students in the reading process, reading a variety of genres and a range of topics. Senior English Goals

4 Senior Standards Senior English is aligned to AZCCRS (Common Core) State Standards. These standards account for the reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language aspects of Senior English. Students are expected to prove mastery all standards in order to pass Senior English. Additionally, Senior English is aligned with the Arizona Workplace Employability Standards. These standards relate to the skills necessary to be successful in the workplace (punctuality, effective collaboration, behaviors, etc) Students will be expected to create goals, action plans, and reflect on these goals throughout the year.
