2. SENIOR NIGHT
All senior students and parents are invited to join us at the senior parent night on Thursday, august 22, at 6pm in the DHS gym.
Senior activities, dues, HOPE, FAFSA, scholarships, college and career readiness plus much more will be discussed.
You don’t want to miss it.

3. BETA Club
Returning members of the national beta club will have their first scheduled meeting on Thursday, August 15, at 3:30 pm in room 322.
If you are unable to attend, please contact Mr. Westry.

4. Westward bound
The University of West Georgia will conduct a small group visit with interested students on Thursday, August 22, during IF.
Students who are interested in attending or learning more about UWG can sign up in the counseling office.

5. Stand up and be counted
The Henry County Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Incorporated will hold its 2nd Annual Voter Registration Drive on Wednesday, August 21, during all lunch periods.
Students who are 17 ½ years old and can provide identification are encouraged to sign up and have your vote counted!

6. National beta club
The National Beta Club will hold its interest meeting on Thursday, August 22, at 3:30 pm in room 320.
Students who have an numeric average of 90 or higher are encouraged to attend.

7. Gay straight alliance
The gay straight alliance is having an informational meeting Friday, august 16, in room 219 from 3:30 pm until 4:30 pm.

8. Science national honor society
Calling all future science enthusiasts in 10th, 11th and 12th grades with a gpa of 3.5 or higher. We have the club for you…
The Science National Honor Society is having an interest meeting on August 14, at 3:30 pm in room We will provide an introductory overview.

9. Do you want to be like mike?
If you are interested in playing basketball, the boys’ basketball team will have tryouts on Wednesday and Thursday, august 28 and 29, from 4pm – 6:00 pm.
In order to try-out, you must have a current physical.

10. Drama club
The drama interest meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, August 15, from 3:30 pm until 4:30 pm in room 308.

11. Cross country
The last chance to join the cross country team is this week. Please collect and turn in the required forms to Coach Harmon by Tuesday, August 13.

12. Senior lunch jam
The first senior lunch jam will take place on Friday, August 16 during 3rd block. The price is $5 for entry only and $15 for entry plus a wing & fry lunch box.
Please see Ms. Martin in room 110 by Thursday afternoon to get your tickets.
Come out and show your senior spirit by wearing your senior crowns and dutchtown shirts.

13. Sports management
If you are a current team manager or would like to become a fall sports team manager, please attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, August 14, in room 706 immediately after school.

14. National Honor Society
NHS existing members will have a welcome back meeting on Tuesday, August 13, in room 329 at 3:30 pm.

15. Fine arts diploma seal
All students interested in completing the requirements for the fine arts diploma seal in theatre, band, chorus or art should attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, August 13, at 3:30 pm in room 308.

16. Junior & senior prom
The junior and senior prom will be held on Saturday, april 18, 2020 at the four seasons atlanta.
Prom tickets are now on sale and can be purchased for $100 each until august 31st. Prices will increase thereafter.
Tickets can be bought online at myschoolbucks.com or with the bookkeeper using cash, check or money order.

17. Parking passes
All students interested in driving to school will need to obtain a parking pass.
Parking passes are on sale for $50 and can be purchased online at myschoolbucks.com or with the bookkeeper.
Please visit the dhs website or front office to get an application.
Parking policies will be enforced beginning august 19. Vehicles without a dhs parking permit will be booted or towed.

18. Freshman parent night
All 9th grade students/parents are invited to join us on Tuesday, august 20, at 6pm for freshman Parent night.
This event is designed especially for freshman families who will be provided with valuable information TO help make the transition to high school a smooth one.

19. Paint your masterpiece
ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN JOINING THE ART CLUB SHOULD GO TO THE ART ROOM TO SIGN UP.

20. Get ready to rhumba
If you are interested in participating in the annual latin dance, please come to room 212 at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, august 27, to audition.

21. Say “cheese”
Cady Studios will be at DHS on Wednesday and Thursday, August 14 & 15, for senior pictures. Please visit cadystudios.com by August 12, to sign up.

22. Do the Math
If you are interested in joining the math team, please meet in room 403 with ms. Raji on Tuesday, august 13.

23. International club
If you are interested in joining the international club, please meet in room 403 with ms. Raji on wednesday, august 14 at 3:30 pm.
