(50% weighting) Component 2: COURSEWORK (1500 words) A reflective report critically evaluates the implementation of a change cycle in the work place/setting and the practitioners’ role within this change. 4 What are the key terms that you need to focus on?
Component 1: COURSEWORK (2000 words) An essay uses a critically reflective approach to examine the implementation and management of change with reference to academic theory. (50% weighting)

5 Task: Using the change you have been thinking about in your setting, work through each of the considerations and consider how your experiences could be unpicked.

8 Report Contents Section Contents Title Page Title of report
Introduction What issues are being explored The reasons for writing the report Background Information An overview of the main factors leading to the report, e.g. the importance of reflection and change cycles Main Issues The substance of the report, discuss the main issues, in this case the different change cycles/models, emphasising the importance of their role. Links to your practice, which is most effective. Results Summarises your observations and findings Discussion Discusses your results and the implications of your findings, including implications for the future. Conclusion Remind readers what you have told them. Introduction – Write last – exploring the effectiveness of change cycles in relation to your practice Results – Might include your own model, having taken parts of different ones that suit.

9 Can you name five reflective models ?
Task: Can you name five reflective models ? Reflective practitioners do what? What were Dewey’s (1933) 8 characteristics of reflection? Open-mindedness - active desire to listen to more sides than one, give full attention to alternative possibilities, to recognize the possibility of error even in beliefs that are dear to us. Practitioners who are open-minded are continually examining the rationales that underlie what is taken as natural and right, and take pains to seek out conflicting evidence. Reflective practitioners are continually asking themselves why they are doing what they are doing. Responsibility - involves careful consideration of the consequences to which an action leads. Responsible practitioners ask themselves why they are doing what they are doing in a way that goes beyond questions of immediate utility (i.e., does it work) to consider the ways in which it is working, why it is working, and for whom is it working. 3) Wholeheartedness - Dewey meant that open-mindedness and responsibility must be central components in the professional life of the reflective practitioner = regularly examine their own assumptions and beliefs and the results of their actions and approach all situations with the attitude that they can learn something new. 4.Self-awareness 5.Intercultural communication skills 6.Patience 7.Ability to take risks/act/experiment 8.Active seeking of feedback and alternative perspectives

10 What key element is being assessed within this assignment?
What is evaluation? You ability to critically reflect and evaluate!!!! Prepare a list of criteria to evaluate the reflective cycles in terms of your ‘change’ event!!! Choose 1 of the reflective cycles and debate why it is the best!
