The Year Ahead
3
Message to Year 10 from Head of Year - Miss Tolan
Having recently made important curriculum choices, you are now at a crucial and exciting stage in your academic career. As you embark on your first year of Key Stage 4 studies, it is essential that you approach your learning with enthusiasm and resilience. As a Year 10 student, you will pursue your chosen subjects in greater depth, equipping you with the knowledge and understanding needed to succeed in your GCSE examinations. Across the school, you will continue to acquire and develop a wide range of personal skills, many of which will be transferable to further education and future employment. It is vital that you establish a healthy balance between academic study and leisure time. You must not hesitate to ask for support or guidance if you are finding things challenging. This academic year, we shall continue to pride ourselves on high standards of behaviour, positive relationships and a strong learning culture. Having thoroughly enjoyed working with you as Head of Year 9, I am optimistic about the next stage of our journey as a year group. I look forward to celebrating your academic and extra-curricular achievements with you over the coming year.
