The Younger Son “Give me” (verse 12) He leaves for the “far country”
He was disillusioned by sin In the “far country” we become destitute In the “far country” he came to himself “Make me” (verse 19) “I have sinned…” (verse 18) The Younger Son

The Father Not allowed to finish speech. Smothered son him with love.
Saw him while a great way off (verse 20). God loves the sinner. He has not forgotten us. He felt “compassion” (verse 20). Returned him to status of son (Gal. 4:4-7; 3:26-27; Eph. 2:19) The Father

The Older Son We need to be forgiving also.
Though he remained with the father, he did not adopt the attitude of the father! Are you of the faith? He also traveled to the “far country”. He “would not go in”. We NEED to listen to the Lord. Father refers to “your brother”… … Older son refers to him as “this son of yours” (vese 30)

“This brother of yours was dead and has begun to live” Life is found in the Son of God! Are you in the “far country” or in the “household of God”? God loves you. The Prodigal Son Luke 15:11-32
