Types of State/Federal Funding
Grants Free money that you do not have to repay Work Study Money earned while working a part-time job - Usually on campus - Must seek employment on own Loans (optional) Borrowed money you must pay back - Accrues interest and has fees Funding is determined by your income and availability of funds.

How do I apply for State/Federal aid?
FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid WASFA Washington Application for State Financial Aid OR Undocumented DREAMer DACA US Citizen Eligible Non-Citizen Only one application is required.

FAFSA.ED.GOV READYSETGRAD.WA.GOV/WASFA You must submit an application for every academic year. Applications for the following academic year open October 1. Be aware of submission deadlines!

After fafsa/wasfa submission
FAFSA/WASFA application and all other required documents are reviewed for conflicting information, accuracy, and completion Check your Financial Aid Portal for any missing documentation you need to submit - communications will also be sent regarding missing documents Check with the Financial Aid Office regarding application status You will receive a letter of ineligibility OR An award notification (Offer Letter/Award Letter) - Review awards on your Financial Aid Portal - they are issued for the whole academic year - Contact the Financial Aid Office if you have questions about your award Read the Conditions of Award and Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy
