Why Elections? Every Club needs Leaders
Elections are a democratic process to identify members with leadership potential

When Elections? For Clubs having annual terms: 1st meeting in May
For clubs having semi-annual terms: 1st meeting in May and 1st meeting in November This allows sufficient time for a proper handover and training to new officers

Election Process A Club Nominating committee is appointed by the President, at least 2 weeks prior to the election date Nominating Committee (NC) consists of 3 individual active members NC Chair is usually the Immediate Past President NC submits report to the Club at the meeting preceding the Election, with names of active members willing to serve in each position Floor Candidates can nominate themselves at the Election itself Minimum 3 officers (President + Secretary + 1 VP) are required

Election Day Election Officer is current President and he/she conducts elections Determines if there is a quorum (>50% of active club members) Accepts nominations for post of President Nomination must be seconded Nominee should accept to serve Asks for additional nominations from floor If received, repeat 3 &4 If no more nominations, entertain motion to close nominations (Propose & second)

Voting Asks members to cast votes by secret ballot
Asks tally Counters to count votes Winner should get majority vote of all members present and voting Announces the winner Repeats process for all positions Introduces Ex Com elect to the Club Submits Officers list on TI website at Club Central
