#InLeedsDay March 2017 “Leeds has been recognised as one of the best cities in the UK for quality of life and people but how can it attract and retain talented people to sustain this?” Councillor Judith Blake, Leader, Leeds City Council. Students - find out why Leeds is such a great place for students and graduates to live and work? November 2017 Leeds City Council aims to enhance the regions Diversity (Gender Diversity, Social Mobility, diverse degree backgrounds of students) Students - pitch a minimum of one action on how to promote Leeds as a city of ever growing diversity, therefore a place that students and graduates should stay.

#InLeedsDay February 2018 Employers from across Leeds were asked to present to the student their own company values and culture that would appeal to students and graduates. Students – identify the company values and culture that would appeal to students and new graduates planning to live and work in Leeds Feb 2019 Leeds City Council and Anchor - “The Leeds Healthy & Inclusive Workplace Pledge” as part of the Anchors Programme for the city. Students – research Wellbeing in the work place and how this contributes to students and graduates staying in Leeds.

#InLeedsDay 6 treks in 2019 but could be more depending on how many
employers involved Twelve students per trek (mixed university students and courses) 6/8 student ambassadors (can be students from previous InLeedsDay events or new volunteers) On average 10 minutes trekking time between employers in in most cases Each employer visit lasts for an hour with lunch provided at one of the employers.

For each new event complete a new FIELDWORK RISK ASSESSMENT FORM or update the previous form if minor changes Collaborate with your internal contacts and external partners when completing in the FIELDWORK RISK ASSESSMENT FORM

Great opportunity to learn about local employers The brief makes beginning a discussion easier Disappointed that I only experienced some employers second-hand, through the experiences of others Wished it could have gone on longer

Good chance to see what employers are in the local area Good opportunity to network with local companies Get the chance to work with other students from other disciplines, other year groups, and other universities Builds confidence Gives a much clearer picture of what it would be like to work in Leeds

#InLeedsDay Overall Thoughts – What To Improve The one stand out thing that people who attended #InLeedsDay2019 said about how it could be improved, was that they wished it could have gone on for longer.

#InLeedsDay Prizes In previous years the prizes included exclusive offers from the participating companies, for things like CV checks, mock interviews, etc. The winners prize for the 2019 event is the opportunity to present the winning presentation to the Anchor Board of Leeds.
