Do Now: Take out your copy of The Great Gatsby. Turn to pg. 4. Take out your The Great Gatsby: Chapter 1 packet. Turn to your graphic organizer on Nick Carraway. We will finish up the presentations for yesterday. Be ready to add to your notes!

2 Nick Carraway Each row will be assigned a particular paragraph(s) from pgs. 3-4. As a group, come up with at least TWO direct quotes and observations you can make about Nick Carraway based on the information in the assigned paragraph(s). Row #1: pg. 3 – paragraph 2 (“I never saw this great-uncle…in the spring of twenty-two.”) Row #2: pg. 3-4 – paragraph 3 (“The practice thing was…over the electric stove.”) Row #3: pg. 4 – paragraph 1-4 (“It was lonely for a day…beginning over again with the summer.”) Row #4: pg. 4 – paragraph 5 (“There was so much to read…looked at from a single window, after all.”)
