Mathematics and Numeracy
Number skills – counting using songs, counting objects, counting forwards and backwards. Recognising and writing numbers. Seeing numbers in everyday life. Languages, Literacy and Communication Children will start to develop their speaking skills. Retelling their news from the weekend. Speaking in front of the class, to the other children in the class. Learning to recognise their name and to start mark making in different forms throughout the setting. Nursery Autumn Term 1 Guess Who? Health and Well-Being Motor skills – developing our fine and gross motor skills – building strength in our hands and wrists using lots of different materials in class. Creative Arts Art - self-portraits, autumnal art. Music – singing nursery rhymes and songs about themselves. Welsh Children will begin to use Welsh in and around the classroom. Greetings, colours, manners. Humanities (Knowledge and understanding of the world) Getting to know about the school, the people in it. Finding out about where our school is and what is around them. Science and Technology Autumn investigations – observing changes in the world around them. LNF and DCF planned for throughout. Planning encompasses the four core purposes for learning and is subject to change based on the needs of the children.
