4 ALVA Program What is ALVA? How I got accepted?:
Opportunity for first generation, minority students, to enter Boeing at an early age. Highly competitive, less than 20% admissions rate. How I got accepted?: Launched my first business in HS, operated more than $80,000 in inventory, earning more than $17,000 profits by age 17. Proved I was mature/capable to serve Boeing.

10 BOOTS (Boeing Open Order Tracking)
Internship Goals: Complete training course & present to staff members. Research and conduct further implementation of usage. Results: Teamed with 737 Program SM Intern/Mentor (met semi-weekly). Completed trainings and educated the team. Analysis of BOOTS data--Identified top suppliers. Promoted BOOTS through two written articles. Contacted top PA’s with instructions on how to give access. Enhanced 767 tier 1 supplier access to BOOTS (76% => 92% today). BOOTS Benefit: Drives on time delivery, reducing risk of disruption.

Create/combine 747 build process. Results: Remodeled/updated the guide and reduced wordage. Added 747 History. Combined 747/767 build process, key differences included control codes and sections. Verified and approved on information accuracy by IE’s.

What Worked Well: Helpfulness from the team, engagement to learn the program. Work opportunities to contribute to the team, (not just printing papers). Ability to think creative and allowing me space to work on my own. Engagement with other functions (Engineering, PA’s, Finance…). Tours once per week, ability to learn the company culture. Future Internships: Engineering Improvements: How can we help other interns gain the same experience?
