Tumor–eosinophil interactions. Eosinophils infiltrate both the necrotic and fibrous capsules of tumors. Known tumor-associated cytokines related to eosinophil accumulation include IL-2, IL-3, IL-5, IL-25, GM-CSF, eotaxin-1, and HMGB1. Cellular contact and cytotoxicity have been shown for CD11a/CD18 and 2B4 and assumed for NKG2D. The granule proteins ECP, EDN, and MBP have been shown to be involved in tumor cytotoxicity following their release in tumors. Benjamin P. Davis, and Marc E.
