4 Introduction The Office of Academic Advising caters for students from 0 to 50 US credits, plus all students on academic probation (Career G.P.A. < 2.00) regardless of credits earned. Students search for experiences that facilitate interactions, communication and administrative procedures. To enable these experiences, the Office of Academic Advising provides decision support tools from a toolbox of technology- enhanced, customized solutions. These tools help build an environment that nurtures independence, autonomy and collaboration.

5 Purpose and Value The tools are intended to: Familiarize students with program structures and requirements Enhance student awareness and responsibility Initiate and facilitate autonomous action through agility and responsiveness Support academic advancement through the monitoring of performance and progress Their value extends throughout the 4-year undergraduate cycle as progression audit tools and performance evaluation instruments.

6 They include a set of system-generated reports based on a program structure (Institutional Tree) for each major and software-generated forms available online through the student portal (JENZABAR, MyAcg) and the Blackboard learning management system.
