GPS LifePlan Secondary, WorkForce, and Military Versions: Tools for Building Partnerships and College Readiness
You may be familiar with the GPS LifePlan - but are you aware of the other versions for specific audiences?  Attend this session to learn more the Secondary, WorkForce and MyMilitary GPS LifePlan programs and how this program can help in developing partnerships with related groups and organizations to better prepare learners for college readiness. 
Outline: I. Introductions (5 minutes)
·         Name, school, title/department, and one thing they want to learn today (write that down on note card to turn in as well as share verbally)
II: Highlights of Secondary, WorkForce and Military GPS LifePlan Websites (25 minutes)
·         Describe partnerships involved in the adaptation of the content
·         Showcase look and feel of each highlighting some areas that distinguish one from the other
·         Present brief overview of the Online Goal Setting Workshop and Job Seeker Planner
·         Address Questions
III. Discussion of using the various channels in collaboration with secondary, workforce and military/veteran related partners  to engage learners to connect with resources, seek support, and develop plans for their careers and deployment times (13 minutes)
IV. Review and Reflect (7 minutes) Participants will reflect upon what they have learned and how they may apply this new knowledge.

The content areas This follows the career development model and each area is designed as modules for each stage of the career and life-planning process. This is a great place to also show the additional navigation:
Left-hand menu: to dig deeper into each on the topics – like chapter headings.
Center Area: The core content – like the pages in a chapter
Right-hand top: Online tutorials and workshops – they stay visible while the user is in each subplan.
Right-hand bottom: Fun interactive – they stay visible while the user is in each subplan.
eFolio Resources: Includes information about the importance of using an eFolio and samples (Learn More), another link to the login page (Log into My eFolio), and online video tutorials for setting up an eFolio account, adding content and developing one’s eFolio further (GPS eFolio FAQs).
The arrow will then transition into the next slide to show a little deeper dig into the content.

Kristin: We use eFolio as the receptacle for students to maintain, organize, and reflect upon the activities that they do in the GPS LifePlan.

The writeable PDF is an example of worksheets that are in the timeline that reflect the actions recommended for college readiness from Dr. Litecky’s (was our president at the time) sabbatical work he did on college readiness. The Finding a Job and Work is an example where we re-emphasize the importance of education for earning income.

Moved an expanded session online for follow-up or others to be able to access and benefit through the VREP project resources. The goal setting was developed to be generic and then dig into audience specific items within the workshop.
