What’s the chances of this project still finishing on time? Well, I have my plan in P6. I have a Risk Register with 30 risks, 10 of which are red. Project Manager What we often see is a lot of companies run their projects with three different groups of people, doing three pieces of work in three disparate tools: Planners/Schedulers focussed on time and working in P6, MSP etc Cost Estimators focussed on cost and working in Excel or specialist estimating tools Risk Managers/Analysts focussed on risk and working in Excel or specialist risk tools With all three working in silos it becomes impossible to answer simple questions from a management/executive perspective: If a particular risk occurs, what is the impact on project cost and finish date? Planners Estimators Risk Managers
