The Author’s Viewpoint
When writing a story, the author creates a character from scratch, thinking carefully about their personality and behaviour. The vocabulary choices they use when writing about their character are very important in ensuring they develop a character’s mood, attitude, personality through speech, action and description. Adverbials are very important in developing the character’s mood throughout a story.

You may wish to colour code them (example) : Red – when Green- where Orange-how Whilst doing so, see if you can identify the author’s viewpoint on Georgy the Goat, magpie-ing the language features you highlight and jotting them down on post it notes. You can stick these around your story map.
