2. Overview of LINAC18 Scientific Program
The overall schedule of the LINAC18 scientific program will be similar to that of LINAC10.
It starts from 9 am like at LINAC10.
LINAC12, 14 and 16 started from 8:30 am.
18 x 30 min and 30 x 20 min oral slots (subject to change).

3. Timeline of SPC Activities
Finalization of SPC members - Early September 2017.
Conference announcement and poster distribution – Early October 2017.
Call for invited talk suggestions to IOC and SPC - Early October till late November 2017.
1st SPC meeting – December 13/14 (Wed/Thu) or 14/15 (Thu/Fri) in Dongguan.
Call for submission of abstracts – Early February till April 6 (Fri) 2018 ( 1 week extension of the deadline is expected).
2nd SPC meeting at IPAC18 – May 5 (Sat) 2018.
Finalization of the entire scientific program – End of May 2018.

4. Date and Place of SPC1 Meeting
Choice of Date
December 13/14 (Wed/Thu) or 14/15 (Thu/Fri).
If it is no longer required in EU to stay at least one day in weekend to buy a discount air ticket, December 13/14 may be a more attractive option (no weekend poisoned).
Choice of Place
Dongguan (near Hong Kong).
It will be a good chance for some SPC members to visit Dongguan and see the CSNS under commissioning.
It may be up to SPC members to decide, but your suggestions are very welcome.

5. SPC Member Issues
At the last IOC meeting during LINAC16, it was pointed out that Japanese SPC members were reduced from 5 to 3 at LINAC16 and it was requested to add 2 more Japanese members at LINAC18.
We expect only a little change in the SPC members.
We selected 2 members from Japan and they agreed to serve on the SPC:
Yuji Otake (the first SPC member from Spring-8 linac)
Shigeru Kashiwagi of Tohoku Univ. (one of Univ. community leaders in Japan).
Otherwise, there will be virtually no change from Linac16.
