2 Tutoring Cheating HOMEWORK Plagiarism Absentee Policy
Students should expect mins. of homework from my class every night. If no homework is assigned, students are expected to read for the alloted time. My expectation is that ALL assignments be completed to a student’s best ability and turned in on time. Work is considered on time when it is completed and ready to be turned in when asked - not when it is in the other classroom or later that day. If students meet an extreme circumstance that prevents them from finishing work, I will accept a signed parent note and will not dock points for missing or late work. Please use with discretion. Missing Work Slips must be turned in for every missing assignment in order to be accepted for partial credit at a later time. If a Missing Work Slip is not turned in, late work will not be accepted. All late work must be turned in no later than 2 weeks before the end of the grading period. * Printer and Internet issues are not an excuse for late work. It is the student’s responsibility to check the class Absent Work Filebox and with assigned classmate for any work that is missing. A student has two extra days to turn in any work assigned on a day that a student was absent. If a quiz was administered on a day a student was absent, the quiz must be made up on the first day the student returns. If previously assigned work was due on the day of the absence, the work is due on the first day the student returns. I will not make up vocaulary or spelling pretests I am available for tutoring after school on Tuesday and Thursdays until 5:00. Tutoring Plagiarism Cheating Plagiarism is the taking ideas and writings of another and passing them off as one’s own. In this class, plagiarism includes... 1. turning in another’s work as one’s own 2. copying work from a friend before class (or while in another class) 3. including a source but failing to cite it 4. copying an author’s exact words and passing them off as one’s own Students caught plagiarizing will be given a ZERO for the assignment. * The teacher will notify the administration and contact parents if cheating / plagiarism is suspected. * The student will be given a zero for that particular test or assignment. I, ________________________________________, have read and understand the rules and expectations for class. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to contact my teacher if I have any questions or concerns. I know that this syllabus, assignments, calendars, and resources are available to me at any time. I know that assignments can be submitted via at any time and that printer/computer/flash drive issues are not an excuse for late work.
