2 What is Supported Internship?
A collaborative venture between key partners which aims to give young people skills to move into employment Designed to develop transferable skills, knowledge and attitudes in readiness for paid employment have a Truck record of success in enabling young people with learning disabilities to gain direct work within top businesses

3 Programme Philosophy People with disabilities have the right to choose a path toward education and employment. However, while freedom of choice is given, the right to work is earned. 4 Supported Internship Young Adult Transition
Supported transition for young people with learning disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Conditions One academic year/last year of education 10-12 students with a variety of learning disabilities On site instructor and job coaches Part of host business culture Internship rotations for career exploration and job skills Individual job search assistance Ongoing in-work support as needed 11/29/2019

September July 1st Internship 10 weeks Graduate & Begin Work at Host Site or in Community 2nd Internship 10 weeks 3rd Internship 10 weeks 2 week Induction Transition Week Begin PS Programme Regular Employment Planning Meetings held twice each internship and led by intern Business Advisory Committee meetings and Family Involvement activities planned and implemented Job Search Begins in 2nd Internship Student Recruitment begins late autumn/early winter
