Rob Stauder Let’s call this session GeoPlanner in Portal for ArcGIS

2 Agenda GeoPlanner in Portal for ArcGIS! System Requirements
Portal Services Authentication and Security Install Demo GeoPlanner intro: Allows you to rapidly plan and test different scenarios using sketch tools and real-time dashboarding. Hosted on AGOL as a premium web app Now available on Portal Today, we’re going to discuss what you need to know to get it running with Portal 10.4 for ArcGIS Includes: Requirements Portal services Authentication and security Install process Plan and test different scenarios using sketch tools and real-time dashboarding

3 Overview Portal Design Explore Evaluate Server Analysis Data Store
GeoPlanner Lets you explore and assess data so you know how an area behaves before you change it. Allows you to Design scenarios with easy-to-use sketch and paint tools. Finally, it has tools to help you evaluate the performance of and differences between scenarios. Why use it on portal instead of AGOL? Support planning professionals working in secure environments Environments with limited connectivity and access to the internet Some orgs cannot expose information outside their intranets Other orgs want to use their own security infrastructure Server Analysis Data Store

4 System Requirements Portal Portal 10.4x for ArcGIS
Federated ArcGIS Server ArcGIS Data Store Analysis Tools GeoPlanner for ArcGIS IIS-Windows Java-Windows Java-Linux Server Analysis Data Store Portal What do you need on Portal to run GeoPlanner? If you have Portal 10.4 or you need the following: A federated ArcGIS Server The ArcGIS data store – used for the hosted feature layers in which we sketch and paint Analysis tools – not really required, but useful in case you want to run tools like buffer or enrich layer And of course – you need the GeoPlanner installation media You can deploy GeoPlanner to IIS running on windows Java app servers running on windows Java app servers running on linux

5 Web Mercator Only! Basemaps Custom Basemaps
Portal allows you to create share and use your own basemaps You share your custom basemaps with a group. Then you set a group in the Basemap Gallery in the Map section of your Portal settings. GeoPlanner will use the basemaps in this group in its Basemap selector. However – use Web Mercator only! Web Mercator Only!

6 Utility Services Portal Configure in Portal Settings
Proxy to ArcGIS Online Require AGOL credentials ArcGIS Portal Utility services Power specific portal functionality Like geocoding, printing and geoenrichment Some need to proxy back to ArcGIS online (for example Geoenrichment service) If you want to use the Enrich Layer tool in GeoPlanner, you need to enable this capability in your portal settings

7 Portal Authentication

May have heard this referred to as a weighted raster overlay service Allows you to evaluate multiple factors at once and produce layers that reflect suitability, risks, or opportunities. You can build and host your own suitability services in Portal You need ArcGIS Server advanced to do this. Advanced capability
