Citizens are unmotivated to work hard because government owns everything.
There is no competition so prices and provisions (amount of supplies) are set by government.

12. How did having many different types of jobs help Truman when he became President?
Because of his many jobs, Truman was a good president. He was able to see the government from many different perspectives, bring unity to the country, and fight for the common people!

13. How did Truman combat racism?
Sent a proposal to Congress to forbid and cease lynchings
Outlawed poll taxes that blocked the poor from voting
Created the Civil Rights Commission
Ordered segregation to end in the military

Winston Churchill was respected in Britain and the U.S., served as prime minister of Great Britain during WW2, and gave a famous speech about the U.S.S.R’s iron curtain when he was in Missouri.
