Scribe Definition Example A scribe learned cuneiform and was highly respected by people in Mesopotamia. Someone who was able to read and write.

3 Laborer Example Definition
Person who does physical work and was at the bottom of the social hierarchy in Mesopotamia Construction workers, farmers and shepherds were considered laborers.

4 Polytheistic Example Definition Belief in more than one god.
Mesopotamians were polytheistic people who believed gods sent them good or bad things.

5 Ziggurat Example Definition
Temple built for a god in Mesopotamia. Located in the middle of the city-state Mesopotamians built ziggurats to honor their gods with a shrine at the top.
