4 In conclusion, the two 2D-SWE systems showed a similar technical success rate and reliability of LS measurements, but there was significant intersystem variability. Therefore, even 2D-SWE systems from the same manufacturer should not be used interchangeably in longitudinal follow-up.

10 In conclusion, the risk of thyroid malignancy was found to be significantly higher for nodules located in the middle lobe. This observation was also confirmed when including solid composition and TIRADS classification as high-risk in a multivariate model, suggesting that a mid-lobe location (or mid-lobe and upper pole location for ACR TIRADS high-risk lesions) may be a risk factor independent of US appearance; therefore, it should be considered for potential inclusion in US classification systems.

11 Conventional 2D-US measurement of the TFCS has limitations, because it is difficult to maintain a consistent measurement point for comparisons. In contrast, 3D-US can compensate for this disadvantage. In conclusion, using 3D-US, we were able to consistently evaluate the TFCS with good reliability. In a comparison of 2 dynamic tests, more significant widening of the TFCS was observed in the DFER position than in the WB position.
