During WWII, technically neutral, but offered Germany access to Spainish naval facilities, and let them test weapons and tech in Spain. Allowed Spainish volunteers to enlist in the German army but forbade volunteers to go to allied armies.
Guerica by Picasso, painted in is meant to represent an attack on the city of Guerica, a bombing by both German and Italian planes during the civil war, an attack that had been encouraged fascist forces ? Died? 1600 died?

7. Japan. Signed the anti0 comintern pact= agreed to a common front against communism= Japan feared Russian agression. Signed November 26, 1936.
-in the context of general Japanese expansionism… by 1933, Japan include Korea, Taiwan, Manchuria, some pacific islands… and they were contemplating expanding into China= Rape of Nanjing… 1937– raped and killed thousands of citizens in the process of taking the capital murdered during first 6 weeks of attacks – women raped/killed/forced into prostitution for army. General denial that this indeed occurred (ie: Japanese history textbooks)
