Total ARG reads normalized by read length and 16S gene read count in early life in Bangladesh. (A) Infants with high levels of Bifidobacterium had significantly lower levels of ARGs in their metagenomes (P = 0.037 by Kruskal-Wallis test) in early life. (B) At year 2, there was no significant difference in ARGs between infants who had high and low levels of Bifidobacterium in early life (P = 0.247 by Kruskal-Wallis).
