Defining the Structure and properties of Umax® Advanced Ceramic.
Umax® Advanced Ceramic is an ALPHA SINTERED form of SiC. Single phase - Less than 0.2% free Si. Compared to reaction bonded which can contain 10% and higher. Non-Porous- No need for fillers, like resins, glass, tungsten, etc. Each tube is individually tested to over 2,000 psig. Pressureless Sintered- No reaction bonding agent required. Holds high dimensional machining tolerances after sintering. Self Bonding Grain Structure- Fine grains are sintered together at temperatures above 4,000 Deg F. Extremely hard. CGThermal Ceramic. Universally corrosion resistant HR/Nitric and other acid environments throughout the units pressure and temperature ratings. Can even reliably perform in air temperatures in excess of 3,450 Deg F. Unconditional universal corrosion guarantee. For all practical purposes it is 100% erosion resistant 50% harder than WC, 10x harder than stainless steel. Excellent fouling resistance. Can be hydro-blasted at high pressure without damage.
