What are we celebrating? 200 years since Marie Madeleine d’Houët founded the FCJ Society Sabina Hayes 1954 200 years of God’s work through the FCJ Family Anne Marie Ryan

5 Marie Madeleine Her inspiration
Her vision Her life Her holiness God’s faithfulness to this ‘little Society’ and the variety of work that has been done in the last 200 years. Sabina Hayes 1954 many hours of accompaniment hours of teaching prayers said love shared smiles encouragement given confidence built … etc… The long line of FCJ sisters and many co-workers who have brought Marie Madeleine’s dream to us Anne Marie Ryan

10 FCJ Bicentenary Commitment 21 September 2019 – 30 November 2020
We, FCJ Sisters and FCJ Companions in Mission in Europe, responding to the Climate Emergency and acknowledging the integral link between the theology of Laudato Si, On Care for our Common Home, our relationship with the Earth and the demand for social justice, commit: ·       to celebrate the beauty of creation and make a positive contribution to our local environment. We will plant 10 trees per community and/or group in 2020. ·       to endeavour to divest all our FCJ communities and homes of single-use plastics, growing in our awareness and supporting each other in our resolve. ·       to publicly acknowledge the impact of climate change on the poorest people in Society, raising awareness of issues locally, nationally and internationally, and becoming involved in advocacy where possible.

Common prayer themes across the FCJ schools in Britain and Ireland Fundraising for an international FCJ charity Fundraising for five local charities - Saint John’s Wirral Hospice - Tomorrow’s Women Wirral, - Ferries Family Group - Homeless (Wirral Ark Project) - Asylum Link Merseyside Initiatives from departments

6th December – Feast Day February - Original theatre production by RISE Theatre for all pupils End of Bicentenary Celebration – ideas welcome! Other Celebrations in Merseyside organised by FCJ sisters

14 Lord, inspire us to live in such a way that our choices each day and our commitment to live in a positive way may transform the negative into something positive, and the ordinariness of daily life into something extraordinary. Amen.
