GIG Read the passage and mark your answers on your whiteboard. NOT ON THE PAPER. Questions 1-2.

1-D Motion Review
3
Vectors Observing motion, we have three vectors: Displacement Velocity
Acceleration
4
Vectors Displacement measures Δx, or change in position
Velocity measures displacement over time, Δx/Δt Acceleration measures change in velocity over time Δv/Δt
5
Vectors Vectors are straight lines. Regardless of the route taken between two points, the vector is a straight line between them.
6
Changing Vectors Vectors have magnitude (a number) and direction (an angle). If an object starts moving in a different direction, the vector has changed. Even if the magnitude of velocity stays constant, if it is going in a different direction, the object accelerated.

Test Review and Corrections
Go over all of the questions you missed. Write out how to solve them correctly. Finished? Try answering the questions on pages 71 and in the textbook. Then, genius hour project.
8
Homework Be ready for 1-D motion test, take 2 on block day.

Closure Answer on your whiteboard:
From rest, Jane takes two steps forward, then three steps left, then one step back, and then she stops. How often did Jane accelerate?
