Some people from Europe came to the colonies as indentured servants so they could be free to live in America.

4. Middle Passage Definition Example
The forced voyage of enslaved Africans on ships across the Atlantic Ocean from West Africa to the West Indies as part of the triangular trade route.
Ships traveling on the Middle Passage were overcrowded with poor living conditions. The trip took several weeks and many enslaved Africans died.
