Caregiver: For us, we were not brought up with leaves so we don’t know how to use them to prepare food.   But some places, if they don’t have fish and they have leave they would prepare food right now with the leave. But in this village, we were not brought up with those leaves.
Caregiver: when cooking rice for the child …, we buy oil and tin tomatoes, even what is not ideal to us, and when the child eats he gets problems but now, with our training, when you want to cook you use alefu and kontomire, add some eggs and abedru and cook. There is medicine in it also.

Health staff perceptions about communities’ effort to prevent child diseases
Previously they would have even gone to the prayer camps , because they have this beliefs that if the child has convulsion it means someone or something spiritual is happening to them. But now, no, immediately the child convulses they just bring the child to the health center. (In-depth interview, Health staff)
