Only the Spirit of God knows the unrevealed mind and will of God (1 Corinthians 2:11).
When any man injects their own thoughts in their seeking and serving of God, then he exalts himself and imposes “something” which is not of Christ (Colossians 2:18-19, 23).

Covenant keepers will respect and uphold what God has not revealed.
Nadab and Abihu sinned by doing something which God had not commanded (Leviticus 10:1). When two or more agree on how to honor God, agreement does not give divine authorization (2 Samuel 7:1-3, 7).

Jesus never performed priestly duties nor entered the temple because the Law said “nothing concerning priests” descending from Judah (Hebrews 7:13-14).

When we do “something” concerning which God through Christ said nothing, then we are guilty of going “too far” from the teaching of Christ (2 John 9).

Going “too far:” The-sinner’s-prayer to be saved… Adding musical instruments… Weekday Lord’s Supper… Women pastors… Distribution of church funds to persons not Christians…
