3. ELIS = All Things Licensure
Check when you are due to renew
Renew your license
Apply for new endorsements
Enter professional development (120 hours in 5 years)
Register in another region
Check your degrees, tests passed, employment records, etc.

4. ELIS - Educator Licensure System
Create an account
click TEACHERS
then Log in to ELIS button
Tied to your SS#
You’ll probably only see your testing results at first - no credentials yet
Remember your username and password
DO NOT create multiple accounts

6. Follow the steps and log in or create your account.

7. Entitlement - You Complete Your EC Program
EC will let ISBE know
You’ll get a notification when you log in to your ELIS account
DO NOT APPLY for your license UNTIL your account shows you have a PEL pending. It should pop up on your Home Page when you log in
PEL = Professional Educator License
Once the notification is there…
Apply ($100). It will be immediate that you receive your license (careful how you answer questions though)
Register it ($60 = remaining year + 5 full)
Which ROE do you register in?
ROE #53 since you’re in it now
Add any region you will work or sub

8. EdTPA General Time Frame: 6-8 weeks
Scoring:
About 1 month after submission to Pearson
ISBE and you are both notified
Results Posted to your ELIS account:
2-3 weeks to get posted to your ELIS account once you get notice
Apply for License:
Once you see the notification on your ELIS Home Page
Your Credentials page will change from Pending or Pre-completion to Completed

ELIS profile info is different than EdTPA portfolio submission profile
Must exactly match your ELIS account

11. What if I Want to Sub or Be an Aide?
DO NOT need a Sub or Parapro license - Sub off of your PEL
Get fingerprinted in each region you wish to sub
Register in ELIS for each region you will be subbing
Go to our website and register to be on our sublist
Substitute Teaching link (center of homepage)

12. Once You Start Teaching - Professional Development
You will owe 120 hours in your 5-year cycle
Enter your activities in your ELIS account
You get an hour for an hour
Coursework is the most beneficial PD for your requirement
What counts as evidence?
ISBE Evidence of Completion Form 77-21B, OR
Transcript from IL college w/ an ISBE approved teacher prep program
