2. Fiber Lab Instructions: Burning – Light your candle. Holding the fiber in the tongs, bring it close to, but not touching the flame. Note the behavior of the fiber on your data table. Continue holding the fiber in the tongs, touch the fiber to the flame. Note the behavior and the odor in the data table. See Burn Characteristics. – Place the fiber on the aluminum foil and let it burn out. – What kind of ash or residue is left after the fiber is removed from the flame? See Residue Characteristics. Record your observations.
