Dementia Friendly Swimming - Case Study
Harry and Joan met project support officer at local group. Nearest session 25 minutes away ‘there’s nothing like this near where we live, we’d rather travel knowing the staff understand and we’ve got help if we need it” Harry unsure if he could still swim. After discussion with coach he swam 14 lengths, now regularly 20 lengths. Both Joan and the swimming coach were surprised by his ability in the pool, both commenting on how ‘unexpected it was’.

Improving how GP and other healthcare staff work with care home staff to improve care of residents: Looking at the ‘whole picture’ for each resident Continuity of care - practitioners ‘signing from same hymn sheet’ Early identification of problems
