Welcome everyone

3. IOSH Groups IOSH has 18 industry-specific groups
IOSH-publicised benefits of joining a Group:
Invitations to regular networking events, seminars and site visits
The chance to contribute to legal consultations that have a direct impact on your industry
Opportunities to join campaigns and projects that champion high standards in your industry
Help with developing and maintaining your professional status.
There are 18 industry-specific Groups within IOSH, with most having been long-established, though relatively new additions include:
Broadcasting and Telecommunications Group;
Financial Services Group;
Sports Grounds and Events Group;
Theatre Advisory Group.
The IOSH Groups main-page publicises benefits of joining any Group as being:
Invitations to regular networking events, seminars and site visits

4. EWMG Strategy The EWMG will: Enhance
Support IOSH Members, Branches & Groups, wherever they are in the world
Engage with external organisations to promote the positive benefits of health, safety and environmental management within the workplace
Seek to support IOSH’s range, and distribution, of products and services.
Keep up with changes in information / communications technology and related applications for the benefit of IOSH Members.

Engage with external organisations to promote the positive benefits of health, safety and environmental management within the workplace.
Continue to protect and promote health and wellbeing.

Seek to increase Group Membership, by promoting and providing to Members a range of value opportunities and methods to engage with and support the Institution’s wide range of activities.

7. 2018 Activity / Achievements
IOSH Environmental & Waste Management Group
Monthly Newsletter issued to members and located under “News” section of Group’s (new) website
To date, we’re still the only IOSH Group to religiously publish a monthly Newsletter, relevant to the interests of our members.
The Newsletter is on the new website under the “News” section and can be accessed publically.

8. Communications IOSH EWMG Twitter - @IOSH_Ewmgt
The EWMG have their own Twitter Account, reaching members using a more modern media to those traditionally used. This will be imperative in future with younger would-be members being brought up with several social media platforms.

9. 2019 Planned Activity Supporting other Groups as well as Branches;
IOSH Environmental & Waste Management Group
Supporting other Groups as well as Branches;
Engaging with relevant external bodies;
Webinars on relevant topics enabling engagement of members anywhere in the world;
Supporting NSHC 2019;
Communication with members via Twitter, LinkedIn, Website, Committee Mailer, IOSH Magazine as well as in person at events;
Continue monthly Newsletter;
Proactive member engagement opportunities;
Finalise Lithium Battery Fire guidance with ESA.
Within our Strategy Document, Targets have been set for 2019 for each of our Group Objectives, with appropriate associated actions taken on by the Group’s Executive Committee members.
