Acid rain is caused by air pollution. As pollution gets into the air, it mixes with the water in the clouds. When it rains or snows, the dirty pollution falls to the ground in the rain. This dirty rain gets into rivers, and streams and effects wildlife. Acid rain can cause erosion on buildings and statues. Acid rain is a type of chemical weathering (which you will learn about in Science). Acid rain has caused damage to the Black Forest in Germany.
