Candidates attack each other in Las Vegas debate

President Obama faced some criticism in the most recent Republican presidential nomination debate, but it was almost entirely overshadowed as the seven Republicans on stage spent most of their time challenging one another. The candidates clashed sharply over issues such as illegal immigration, taxes and health care.

In Other News Officials in eastern Ohio declared schools closed Wednesday as sheriff's deputies equipped with night vision attempted to hunt down dozens of exotic animals -- including bears, lions, tigers and cheetahs -- that escaped from a preserve following the death of its owner. The menagerie of about 48 animals on the loose also includes wolves, giraffes and camels. Deputies shot dead about two dozen of them Tuesday. Authorities have obtained a search warrant for the home where a missing 11-month-old Missouri girl was reportedly last seen. The warrant allows investigators to comb the house in the coming days and also bars the family of Lisa Irwin from returning home. Lisa was reported missing at 4 a.m. October 4, after Lisa's father, Jeremy Irwin, came home from work to find the door unlocked, lights on and a window that had been tampered with. A preliminary investigation is under way into an altercation that left a high school football coach hospitalized with severe facial injuries after a Georgia football game. Warren County head coach David Daniel was released Monday from an Augusta hospital after surgery to repair broken bones around his right eye, cheek and nose. He suffered crushed facial and ear bones and an irreparable injury to one of his tear ducts. Daniel was struck on the side of his head by a helmet when he tried to intervene in the fight, which occurred after Warren County, the visiting team, defeated Hancock Central Hancock Central players apparently attacked Warren County players as they were trying to get into their locker room, which was locked. The price of a first class stamp is going up by one cent starting next year. Forever stamps -- also called first class stamps -- will now cost 45 cents, a one cent bump. The change will go into effect Jan. 22. Postcard postage will increase 3 cents to 32 cents. Letters to Canada and Mexico will jump 5 cents to 85 cents, while letters to other international destinations will spike 7 cents to $1.05.
