Dates to Know
* This is our last week of Reader’s Theatre! Kids should still practice their script every night (especially since it’s a short week)! Please record practiced time on reading log.
* In celebration of everyone working so hard this year & achieving huge academic growth, we are having a pizza party for students only on Tuesday, 6/2. Please send in $3.00 for your student to enjoy pizza, fruit, chips, & drink. The price will include everything!
* I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in our classroom at 12:15 on Thursday, May 31st!
5/28: Holiday - No School
5/31: 1st Grade Awards in classroom at 12:15 & in cafeteria at 1:30
6/1: 1st Grade Field Day & RES Spirit Day
6/4: Movie & Memories Day
6/5: Puzzles, Pajamas, & Pizza Party – students only (Don’t send lunch!!)
6/6: Game Day
6/7: Early Dismissal at 1:45, Last Day of School,
& Pelican’s PTA Event from 1:00-5:00 x
Our Learning Focus
Theme: Ocean Animals
Math: identifying 2D versus 3D shapes, attributes of 3D Shapes, & comparing shapes
Phonics: Adding suffixes (s, ed, ing, es) to multisyllabic words
Reading Focus: Identify reasons an author gives to support points in a text
Writing Focus: Participate in shared research & writing projects
Science: Compare properties of soil & animal life cycles
